Queer and Single? Now You Can Christian Mingle!
Do you love our Lord and savior Jesus Christ? Are you a God-fearing member of the LGBT+ community? Would you like to find yourself another God-fearing member of the LGBT+ community? Well, now you can!
Christian Mingle and all other religious match-making sites owned by Spark Network, such as JDate.com and LDSSingles.com, must allow LGBT+ individuals to use their services after a court ruling this last week.
A 2013 class-action suit filed by two gay men alleged that Spark Network Inc. intentionally excluded gay people from their website, violating California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act. According to CBC.com, Judge Jane L. Johnson approved a settlement agreement in which Spark agreed to modify search settings so that members of the LGBT+ community are accommodated within the next two years, but did not admit to any wrongdoing.
My same-sex-loving friends, grab your holy books, and draft those profiles because you now can be a part of faith-based internet dating. No more messing with those heathens on Grindr and Tinder. Are there openly gay Mormons? I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. They can soon date online.
Of course there are many opposed to this who happen to be religious heterosexual people (shocking!) calling it “an act of assault on religious liberties,” and “a form of cyber bullying.” But forget those guys; I hope they aren’t in your bible study group.
